El número cómico La Flora y la Fauna, está basado en un mito Sumerio que relata cómo nace la Flora y la Fauna, a partir del encuentro amoroso entre la Tierra y el Cielo.
Atanasia, payasa teatral, representa este mito con una danza contemporánea. Lo que el público verá no es precisamente el virtuosismo de una bailarina profesional sino la torpeza y diversión de una payasa que pretende ser una bailarina de la compañía de Pina Bausch.
El mito en su versión original es relatado para el público por un narrador, después aparece Atanasia para bailar danza contemporánea. Atanasia ha creado una coreografía en la que cada paso va contando el mito, ella piensa que si no explica lo que cada paso representa, el público no entenderá su danza conceptual; así que va danzando y explicado. Con lo cual crea una nuevo estilo de danza: Danza contemporánea explicada.
Para finalizar, y una vez todo aclarado, Atanasia danza, ya sin explicaciones, la creación de la Flora y la Fauna.

In the comic sketch The Flora and the Fauna a clown character, Atanasia, reports the myth Sumerian of the loving meeting between the land and the sky, from this courtship the flora and the fauna are born.
Atanasia, theatre clown, represent this myth with a contemporary dance. What audience will see is not the virtuosity of a professional dancer but the fun and foolishness of a clown that pretends to be a professional dancer.
The myth in it original version is reported for the public by a narrator. Then Atanasia appears to play contemporary dance. She has created a choreography in which each step is telling the myth. She thinks that if she does not explain what every step represents, the public will not understand her conceptual dance; so she is dancing and explaining.
For example, in certain moment of the dance she explains: “By dancing contemporary dance you have to inspire of strong images. So, to represent the passion of the land I think about popcorn that bursts”. In order to finalize, Atanasia dance, already without explanations, the creation of the flora and the fauna.

この面白さに溢れた短編物語では、アタナシアという名のクラウンが、スメリアン文明の神話である土地と空の愛の物語について、お話をします。この二方の間の求愛から、全ての自然と、動物たちが生まれたのです
アタナシアは、演劇派のクラウンで、この愛に満ちた神話を、現代の踊りで表現します。名人芸というまでには及びませんが、プロの踊りを真似るその姿は、とても愉快で、またクラウンらしく滑稽であります。たとえ、踊りの腕前が少しぐらい足りなくても、彼女は踊りを心から楽しんでいます。
最初、観客には、ナレーターにより解説が入ります。そして、アタナシアの登場です。アタナシア自身が、創造した各々のステップで、この神話の物語の内容を伝えていきます。しかし、彼女は考えます“観客の皆には、このステップと踊りだけでは、伝えたいことが全て伝わないのでは”と。焦った彼女は、踊りと共に説明を始めます。伝えるために自分で作ったダンスなのに。
例えば、ある踊りの最中に、彼女は自分自身に訴えかけます。“この踊りによって、鮮明なイメージが湧き出てくるはずよ”と。そして、土地の情熱を、ポップコーンが破裂する動作で、体中を使って表現を試みます。そうやって言葉を発しながら、観客の理解を促して、最後にはアタナシアは踊りだけでもって、自然と動物たちの創造を目一杯観客に伝えます。観客たちは、もう言葉の頼りなしに、物語を理解しているから。
